Experience the festive season as A Cork Christmas Celebration the must loved free festival organised by Cork City Council in association with Bord Gáis Energy returns to Cork for its forth year. Last year the festival attracted over 140,000 visitors making it Cork’s most successful festival in 2010. It is expected that the festival will attract even greater numbers this year.

A Cork Christmas Celebration sees Bishop Lucey Park being magically transformed into a beautiful illuminated park by global event specialists Arcana. The theme of the Park is ‘Christmas Wishes’ and prepare to be mesmerised as you enter the wonderful Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory inspired garden with Gingerbread Men, Chocolate Log Cabins and Snowball Shrubbery under a Van Gogh inspired starry night.

The Grand Parade will also be transformed by VSC Events into a wonderful haven of Irish and International craft and food stalls. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere as local choirs and bands play popular Christmas Songs or pay a visit to Triskel Christchurch who in the lead up to Christmas will be showing much loved Christmas Movies including Scrooge, Home Alone, White Christmas and A Nightmare Before Christmas.

Due to popular demand A Cork Christmas Celebration will take place for fifteen days and will run every weekend until December 21.

The Dates and Times of A Cork Christmas Celebration are as follows:

·        Friday 16-Wednesday 21 December

The Christmas Markets will open from 10am to 8pm while the magical atmosphere of Bishop Lucey Park can be experienced each afternoon from 4pm -8pm.
