Spike Island

How many meetings have you had that start with a scenic ferry journey and take place within the walls of a 200 year old Fort?  Spike Island is situated just off the coast of Heritage town Cobh and can be reached in just 25 minutes by train or car from Cork city and the airport.  Ferries depart Kennedy pier Cobh and cross the beautiful Cork harbour, the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world.  The island has over the last 1300 years seen an Island monastery, an Island prison, an Island Fortress and Island homes.

Today the island is a beautiful, scenic and fascinating break from the mainland as visitors can enjoy all the usual benefits of meeting and conference room hire but with the added appeal of tours and activities.  This serves to break up the learning and instil a stronger sense of teamwork and retained learning.  Our guides will be on hand at all times to service your meeting room needs while during your breaks we can take your group through over 1300 years of rich Irish history, as well as offering exciting activity options with our adventure partner, Spike Adventures.

A visit to Spike Island is a visit not soon forgotten, so book your next business away day on the small island with the big history.  Will your group escape from Fortress Spike?
