Visit Cork - Cork Tourism Destination Manager & Sales & Marketing Manager

Excellent opportunities for programme managers and marketing professionals to further their career by taking on a high profile regional role to implement Cork’s Tourism Strategy

 

The Organisation

Visit Cork is an organisation charged with responsibility for the implementation of the Growing Tourism in Cork – A Collective Strategy published in January 2016 by the Cork Tourism Taskforce.   The tourism strategy outlines a targeted plan for increasing domestic and international visitor numbers to 2.8 million with an associated increase in spend in the local economy of €865 million.

Visit Cork will work closely with a number of funding/resourcing agencies and State Tourism Bodies to deliver on the actions in the Strategy.   The Board, working through these key appointments, will ensure the strategic plans are implemented in conjunction with the relevant agencies.

 

Cork Tourism Destination Manager

The Role

Visit Cork is seeking an energetic and suitably qualified candidate for the role of Cork Tourism Destination Manager:  the appointee shall be responsible for leading and managing the implementation of the Cork Tourism Strategy 2016-20 ensuring the successful completion of work programmes, projects and activities in the area of experience development and destination development and the delivery of outcomes and KPIs contained within the Strategy under Visit Cork.

The Person

Candidates will be professionally qualified with a proven track record of achievement in destination marketing and/or strong project/programme experience working in a challenging environment.

The candidate will be commercial, fully conversant with best practice in brand development, self-confident, organised, energetic and a decisive personality who displays effective communication skills and an ability to influence.

The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience and management experience. International experience would be an advantage.

 

Sales & Marketing Manager

The Role

Visit Cork is seeking an energetic and suitably qualified candidate for the role of Sales & Marketing Manager.

The appointee will effectively manage the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies to build awareness and maximise the business development potential of the Cork tourism brand proposition for the benefit of tourism in the region in conjunction with the Brand Cork initiatives.

The Person

Candidates will be professionally qualified with a relevant Degree or Post-Graduate Qualification in strategic and digital marketing and / or communications strategy with a proven track record of achievement in   marketing and communications activity in tourism or related business areas.

The candidate will have experience of developing and maintaining marketing strategies, in-depth knowledge of the digital landscape and how it can be used to support and develop the brand, and destination brand development (particularly marketing communications).

The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience and management experience.  Knowledge of Irish tourism structures, segments and future policy direction while not essential is desirable.
