Cork Airport to host 2017 ACI Europe Regional Airports Forum

19 July, 2016

The Cork Convention Bureau (CCB) and Fáilte Ireland were pleased to announce that Cork Airport has been chosen as host to a major international aviation conference next May following a successful bidding process.

Cork Airport will host the 2017 ACI Europe Regional Airports Forum with the conferences being held at Fota Island Resort near Cork City between the 15th & 17th May next year.

This is will be the first time the event is coming to Ireland and it is considered that hosting the ACI Europe Regional Airports Forum will deliver an immediate economic boost to the Cork region. Further long term benefits could come in the form of new routes secured into Cork Airport from a range of new and exciting destinations

The Regional Airports Forum provides a platform for regional airports such as Cork to exchange knowledge, share best practice and discuss issues of common interest. The ACI has an extensive membership covering 500 airports in 45 countries across Europe and it is expected that approximately 200 delegates will attend the Cork venue for the 3-day event.

The key elements of the ACI Europe Regional Airports Forum will take place at the luxury Irish conference venue at Fota Island, while other elements of the programme include the Welcome Reception which will take place at the popular local attraction at the Midleton Distillery.
