Cork Passport Gets Royal Seal Of Approval
11 June, 2013
The Queen gives Cork's Rebel Passports the Royal seal of approval.
Cork's famous fishmonger Pat O'Connell sent a Cork Rebel Passport, launched in May as part of Cork's flagship Gathering 'Rebel Week', to Queen Elizabeth to mark the two-year anniversary of her visit to Cork. In return he received an official letter printed on headed paper from the Queen's private secretary at Buckingham Palace sending her 'grateful thanks' to 'Dear Pat'
The Rebel Passports which are part of a unique initiative for Cork Rebel Week, are proving to be a hugely popular 'Gathering' initiative with thousands of applications since its launch just weeks ago. Cork Rebel Week, Cork's flagship Gathering, will take place from 14th - 20th October.
